# ERPNext integration with RFID, IoT and AI

> Connect ERPNext with an API key and secret. Readers, scanners and scales feed it stock movements that are checked before they post.

The AI layer for ERPNext.

ERPNext is the easiest ERP we connect, because it's reachable over the internet and the credentials are a key and a secret. You can have a working connection before lunch.

What you do with it is the harder part. ERPNext's stock ledger is only as true as what gets typed into it. We put the reading at the source, so the entry is a by-product of the movement instead of a task after it.

## RFID for ERPNext

Tag the stock, put a UHF reader on the door, and every receipt and dispatch is recorded as it crosses. Our reader handles 700 tags a second with a 15 metre read at the dock, and the multi-antenna version can tell which direction a tag went. The movement lands in ERPNext as a stock entry against the right document.

## IoT for ERPNext

A weighing scale on the receiving bay posts the weight. A scanner on the shop floor posts the issue. Sensors post conditions. All of them write into IoTReady Engine first, where a rule checks the reading before it reaches ERPNext. A weight 5% off the PO stops there, instead of becoming a correction two weeks later.

## AI for ERPNext

The Engineer, the AI inside Engine, builds the flow from a description: "when a pallet is scanned at the gate, create the purchase receipt." You review it and switch it on.

Claude and ChatGPT can connect to the workspace as well, so you can ask questions across your ERPNext stock without opening ERPNext. See [AI connectors](https://iotready.com/docs/platform/ai-connectors.md).

## What the connection needs

- The address of your ERPNext site
- An API key and an API secret, generated under **My Settings > API Access**

Use a user with only the permissions the workspace needs. The secret is shown once, so copy it then. Steps are in [Connect your ERP](https://iotready.com/docs/platform/erp.md).
