# Zoho Books integration with RFID and IoT

> Connect Zoho Books, and Zoho Inventory with it, to a floor that reads its own stock. RFID, scanners and scales write in, Books keeps the accounts.

The IoT layer for Zoho.

Zoho Books is where the money lives: the items, the purchase orders, the sales orders, what you owe and what you're owed. It has no idea what's physically on the shelf unless someone tells it. This connector is how the shelf tells it. It's built around Books, and works with Zoho Inventory alongside.

Items, purchase orders and sales orders come across from Zoho into your IoTReady workspace. What happens on the floor goes back: a receipt, an issue, a count. Books stays the system of record, so what you pay and bill is based on what actually arrived and left.

## Where RFID comes in

Tag the item, the carton or the crate, and a UHF reader at the door does the counting. Our RFID reader reads up to 700 tags a second, so a pallet goes through the gate without anyone opening it. The result reaches Zoho against the purchase order. Where tags aren't worth the cost, a QR on the crate does the same job.

## Where IoT comes in

Scales, scanners and sensors write into the same workspace. A bin on a scale reports its weight, and Engine turns the change into a stock movement. A cold-store probe reports a temperature, and a rule decides whether that's an alert or nothing. None of it needs someone at a keyboard.

## Where AI comes in

Engine's built-in AI, the Engineer, sets up the rules for you. Say what you want ("receive against the PO and flag short shipments") and it builds the flow for you to review.

You can also connect Claude or ChatGPT and ask it about Zoho-backed stock: how much of a SKU is left in each location, which orders are waiting on a delivery. See [AI connectors](https://iotready.com/docs/platform/ai-connectors.md).

## What the connection needs

- Your Zoho data centre
- A client ID and secret from a Server-based Application in the Zoho API console
- A sign-in with Zoho, which you approve on Zoho's own page. Books and Inventory share the same sign-in, and you choose which one to connect on that page.

Zoho is reachable over the internet, so you can connect it yourself in a few minutes under **Integrations**. Steps are in [Connect your ERP](https://iotready.com/docs/platform/erp.md).
