Workflow

Receiving, processing, dispatching

The three acts every inventory operation reduces to. Each step below is a point where identity, quantity or context gets captured.

  1. Receiving

    Raw material in, with the batch and the weight captured together.

    1. Scan the supplier batch code on the sack or drum
    2. Weigh in on the platform; record the tare and the net
    3. Bind the supplier batch to an internal lot at the point of receipt
    4. Post the receipt with the measured weight

  2. Processing

    Production, where yield is the number that pays.

    1. Issue lots to the batch by scan, so genealogy is captured as it happens
    2. Weigh output per batch to derive true yield against standard
    3. Print and apply a lot label at the point of packing
    4. Hold and release quality checks against the same lot identity

  3. Dispatching

    Out of the door, FEFO enforced by the system.

    1. Pick to first-expiry-first-out from the scanned lot
    2. Scan cartons onto the pallet and the pallet onto the vehicle
    3. Capture the dispatch weight for the transporter reconciliation
    4. Retain a full lot-to-customer trace for recall
