What an Engine account adds
What it does
Pick a printer model and a label size. Put text, barcodes, QR codes, lines and boxes where you want them. The designer writes the printer code for you: ZPL for Zebra, TSPL for TSC, PGL for Datamax. Send it to the printer as it is.
Any field can be a placeholder instead of fixed text. Bind it to a name like sku or price and the designer fills it from a record when it renders. That’s how one design becomes a thousand different labels.
If you’d rather talk than drag, the designer also has an MCP server at https://labels.iotready.dev/mcp. Point an AI assistant at it and ask for the label. It can check the result against the printer’s language before you print.
What it won’t do
It draws what the printer language can draw. A box the printer can’t render shows up as a warning, not as a surprise on the roll. Everything here is 203 dpi. If your printer is 300 or 600 dpi, the sizes will be off.
Without an account, nothing is saved. Close the tab and the design is gone, so download it first.
What an account adds
The designer is part of IoTReady Engine, and an Engine account is where a label stops being a one-off.
Saved designs. Come back next week and the label is where you left it.
Filling from your data. Bind fields to your own tables and print straight from a record, instead of typing the price again.
Price and SKU lists. Upload the list, print the shelf. When the price changes, change it once.
Sync. The same labels on every site and every workstation, so the one on the back shelf isn’t last month’s.
Printers on the network. IoT-enabled printers take a job from Engine directly. Nobody has to stand at a PC and press print.
If you’re labelling at a counter with a scale, our label management station does this with the hardware included. For what to put on a label in the first place, see choosing the right label for your product.
