What is in this book
Assembly takes a device from a sealed box to a powered, wired unit on a weighing scale.
Configuration is everything that happens before a device is useful: what the Wi-Fi network has to provide, the three ways to hand a device its credentials, and scanner setup.
Operation is the day-to-day - the keypad, PLU updates, firmware updates over the air, and finding a device on the network.
Troubleshooting is arranged by symptom rather than by cause, because a symptom is what the person reading it has.
