Wi-Fi network requirements

What the network has to offer before a device will join it: 2.4 GHz, a visible SSID, WPA2, and a channel permitted in India.

Frequency band

  • Wi-Fi should operate on the 2.4 GHz frequency band.

  • The IoT device does not support 5 GHz and will not connect to 5 GHz networks.

File system for Wi-Fi configuration pendrive

  • The pendrive used for Wi-Fi configuration should have the FAT32 or exFAT file system.

Network visibility

  • The Wi-Fi network’s SSID (network name) should be visible and not hidden.

Password protection

  • The Wi-Fi network should be password protected for security purposes.

  • A strong and secure password should be used to prevent unauthorized access.

  • We support the WPA2 authentication protocol.

Wi-Fi channels

  • Wi-Fi channels used should comply with the allowed channels in India for the 2.4 GHz band.

  • The following channels are permitted in India: Channel 1 (2.412 GHz), Channel 2 (2.417 GHz), Channel 3 (2.422 GHz), Channel 4 (2.427 GHz), Channel 5 (2.432 GHz), Channel 6 (2.437 GHz), Channel 7 (2.442 GHz), Channel 8 (2.447 GHz), Channel 9 (2.452 GHz), Channel 10 (2.457 GHz), Channel 11 (2.462 GHz)

A step-by-step Wi-Fi configuration manual is available as a PDF from support@iotready.com.

Please ensure that the Wi-Fi setup adheres to the above requirements, including the specific Wi-Fi channels allowed in India for the 2.4 GHz band. This will ensure compatibility with the IoT device, maintain security, and comply with local regulations.
