Serial labeling devices: common questions
Eleven symptoms an operator meets on a serial labeling device, and what to check first for each one.
Labels are not being generated

Check if the weight is showing up (last line in the LCD) when PLU code for an item is entered.

Note that for pieces items, the weight will not show up on the display.

Make sure the printer is not in an error state and test the feed button on the printer.
Labels are being printed after some delay

Make sure the weight is stable, and no external inputs are affecting the weight.

Ensure the weighing scale is in raw mode (check weighing scale configuration).

Weight not showing up on IoT display / no prints when placing packages
- Check the weighing scale cable connection.
Date not changing on device

PLU not updated.

Check network connectivity.
Only one print is triggered (followed by beep sounds for the rest of the prints)

Switch the printer off and on and try again.

Test with another working printer.
Prints many blank labels after one label is printed
- Clean the printer feeder.
PLU code not found for an article

Verify if the price list has been updated for your specific warehouse.

Ensure the price exists for the specific article.
Blank prints
- Check the printer power supply and ensure it is powered with a 24V power supply.
Pieces labels not generated without weight

Contact the IoTReady Support team to enable “Skip Weight For Pieces” for your respective warehouse.

Perform a PLU update after confirmation from the support team.
Display not showing up properly
- Check the printer power supply.
Green LED doesn’t show up after device is booted up

Check the weighing scale cable connection.

Ensure Wi-Fi is connected and that internet access is available.
